Friends of Laurel Park: 2019 in Review
Dear Friends: This past year has seen a remarkable leap in new donors and expanded activities. We now boast more than 150 donors, a huge increase from 2018. Our board has changed, and we thank outgoing members Melanie Pieper and Ann McFadden for their dedicated service. The board welcomed Marian Cline and “returnee” Mark Morse.
The activities we organized (or co-organized) included a CPR class, a Furry Friends day, two sets of Yoga classes, a bird walk, town history walk, jazz and rock concerts at Jump Off Rock, Meet the Chiefs night, and an annual dinner at HCC. We thank all who helped making those events a success. We plan to repeat most of those in 2020.
We could not have done these things without the support of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers. We are fortunate in having a healthy bank balance of just over $36,500 and we thank our 27 sponsors from 2019.
In 2020, we will meet again with Town officials to determine how we can provide a financial boost or supplement to their priority needs. This past year, we helped support a new bulletin board, two new dog waste stations and heavy duty waste containers for Lake Rhododendron, in addition to the music events.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL,
THE FRIENDS OF LAUREL PARK BOARD
